Atsar at PDP Secretariat, Vows to protect Benue interest.
Yesterday in Makurdi,the Benue State Capital, 2023 topmost Benue State Governorship aspirant, Engr. Terver Atsar , met with the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State to declare his ambition to contest for the Governorship of Benue State come 2023.
Introducing the famous governorship aspirant,Hon. Isaac Angbande, former Chairman of Gboko Local Government Area,described Atsar as an intelligent, resourceful, hardworking and focused gentleman who is determined to give Benue a purposeful leadership if given the chance come 2023.
In his speech Engr. Atsar commended the State Chairman of the PDP, Sir John Ngbede for his steadfastness and effective leadership style that has shaped and is strengthening the Party in the State.
Atsar stated that PDP under the leadership of sir Ngbede has vehemently and firmly resisted subjugation and oppression of a Benue people He urged him to sustain the harmonious working relationship with Governor Ortom to ensure he deliveres Benue to PDP in 2023.
On his Governorship ambition,Atsar stated that since the tenure of Governor Ortom is fast coming to an end, Benue deserves one who will sustain and build on the foundation Ortom has laid. He promised continuously improve service delivery to the people using his accumulative leadership experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
He vowed to protect Benue interest rather than personal interest reiterating his commitment to have no other business than to serve his people if availed the opportunity.
Atsar promised to harness the Agricultural potentials the State is endowed with to create jobs so as to tackle the unemployment problem in the State.
Atsar highlighted two key areas of his 12 points agenda including Security of lives and property of Produce Management which will be focus areas of his adminstration.
He stressed stated that the primary aim of every meaningful Government is to protect the lives and properties of its Citizens and as such his government will stake everything it takes to provide security for its people. He vowed to strengthen the Anti Open Grazing Law in the State stressing that no inch of Benue land will be given for Grazing reserves or routes whatsoever since the naturally endowed land is given to Benue people as our heritage which we must preserve for our generations yet unborn.
On Produce management,Atsar stated that as an African adage states that ”a labourer deserves his wages”, Benue under his watch will set up a Produce Management Agency that will be responsible for storage, packaging, standardization, processsing price regulation and makerting of agricultural produce.
Atsar explained that the Agency will create a full value chain in the agricultural industry that will be a win win for the people of Benue.
He further avered that the country is moving in the direction self determination and reliance on Federal allocation would soon become counterproductive. Benue must begin to plan how to survive in the unfolding era.
He particularly thanked the leadership of the party for granting him audience.
Responding the Chairman Benue State PDP working Committee,Sir John Ngbede assured Engr. Atsar of his commitment to ensure fairness and equal opportunity to all the aspirants.
Ngbede stated that the state needs someone who will secure the lives and properties of Benue Citizens and charged Engr. Atsar to consult State wide in order to woo Party Men and Women.
